IT Business Analyst

As a Senior IT Business Analyst for the Property Insights Project, you will play a pivotal role in driving the product roadmap and resolving critical dependencies. Your responsibilities will include:

Your role
As an IT Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will involve: 

  • Define and own the analysis approach, adapting standards to meet project and product goals.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders (e.g. Risk Engineering, Underwriting), always keeping the customer in focus.
  • Elicit, document, and reconcile business requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze end-to-end business processes and assess system and data impacts (‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’).
  • Translate business needs into clear use cases and functional / IT requirement specifications.
  • Present complex problems and solutions in a simple way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work closely with developers, architects, and other BAs to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Support planning and backlog management, including dependencies and challenging timelines.
  • Support testing, implementation, and training to enable smooth delivery and adoption.
  • Perform reviews, apply quality standards, and support post-implementation activities (documentation, issue resolution, benefits follow-up).

 

Your Skills and Experience

As an IT Business Analyst, your skills and experience will ideally include:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven BA / SME experience (3–5 years) in global transformation projects, ideally in agile delivery environments.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferably IT / business IT or equivalent).
  • End-to-end project lifecycle and BA experience across IT and business change projects (incl. large projects > USD 5m).
  • Strong skills in requirements elicitation, business process modelling, and documentation (use cases, functional specs, IT requirements).
  • Experience with system and user acceptance testing and creating inputs for testing and user training.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and co‑creation skills; strong team player.
  • Very strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills, with high ownership, proactivity, and result focus.
  • Good understanding of IT and digital technology, balanced business acumen and tech savviness; API-related experience.
  • Advanced English (written and spoken).

Nice to have

  • Business Analysis qualifications (e.g. ISEB, CBAP).
  • Background / knowledge in (international) commercial insurance or wider financial industry.
  • Experience as a software developer.

 

We offer

Compensation for roles at Zurich depends on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific role, skill set, level of experience, and subject to applicable law. Zurich thus provides a range of compensation aligned to internal job architecture and market benchmarks to ensure fair and consistent pay for comparable roles. The starting base salary range for this position is 2330 Eur.
